The Badwords2 Text Filtering/Flushing Component is an add-on API component for Joomla! 1.0 and Mambo Open Source 4.5.2.3, GNU GPL portal CMS. It is designed as custom component and fully integrated in Joomla!/Mambo.

It allows administrators to create a list of banned or 'bad' words, and BW2 finds these words in content and replaces them with a string of inocuous asterisks at viewing time.  BADWORD becomes *******.  If you're an admin or moderator (depending on the integration) you'll see the original words, since BW2 does it's maigc without destroying the original content.

Badwords2 supports the Joomla CMS 1.x and higher and Mambo Open Source 4.5.2.3 ONLY  A Badword Extended version, developed by Wim Albers is also for older versions of Mambo.
